CONSULTATION SERVICE:
Our clinical Pathologists and Technologists are available to referring physicians for interpretation and consultation on both routine or unusual cases. Some tests such as Pap Smears that require a Pathologist to review will automatically generate an additional charge for this service.
SUPPLIES:
RML provides for your use: Specimen vials, blood collection tubes, fixatives and miscellaneous items necessary for specimen collection. Also, we supply you with test requisition forms which are pre-printed with your account number and name (see Requisition). Supplies provided are expressly for the accounts to use for collecting specimens to be submitted to RML for analysis. Computer terminals and printers provided by RML are for the use of the account expressly for reviewing information relative to RML business. Any other use is expressly prohibited.
FREE LABORATORY WORK FOR CLIENTS:
We DO NOT provide laboratory work for physician accounts or staff at no charge. Clients are expected to submit laboratory work for themselves or office staff just as they would for any other patient.
UNLISTED TESTS:
Because new procedures are continually being developed, the enclosed alphabetical listing of tests may not be complete. Please contact our Customer Service Department for availability of tests not found in the manual or visit our intranet web site for the latest update.
REPEAT DETERMINATIONS:
Laboratory tests will be repeated at no charge whenever a physician has any questions about the validity of a test result.
COURIER SERVICE:
RML maintains its own daily courier service throughout Southwestern Michigan and Northern Indiana. Routine scheduled service is provided at no additional charge. Most laboratory reports are faxed or delivered to your office within 24 hours. Large volume accounts will receive daily reports by a high speed printer and electronic equipment supplied by RML expressly for that purpose only.
QUALITY ASSURANCE:
We participate in regular laboratory inspections and in-depth proficiency testing programs carried out by the College of American Pathologists. We have been voluntarily accredited by the College of American Pathologists' Accreditation Program since its inception.
Because laboratory medicine is a rapidly changing science, new methods and reference intervals may change as our knowledge and experience increase. Please note that the material in this reference manual is provided as a guide and is subject to change. Refer to the test report for the current reference range, method and units of measure. We will periodically update the manual and this can be accessed through our Intranet site for network clients and at our Internet web site http://www.rml-lab.com/
